Escape Chute Systems has now developed a Heat Pack for use with our Emergency Egress Systems on all
Mobile Mining Equipment operating in Freezing Conditions

The pack consists of a Heating Element and Control Box, together with a Thermal Protective cover.

The 24 Volt DC, Heating System will consist of:
“W” shaped Tubular Heating Element, with Support Brackets.
Terminal Connection Junction Box.
Temperature Control Box to be mounted in the operatoors cabin consisting of : -

  • Digital Temperature Controller

  • Plug and Socket connector

  • Low Temperature – Audio Alarm

  • Low Temperature – Visual Alarm

  • 20amp fuse.

The heating element will be located at the bottom of the chute container when it is in the upright standby mode.
A flexible cable conduit will run from the chute container, this will allow 24 Volt power to be accessed by the heating element, and temperature control from the control box mounted in the operators cabin.

Also included will be a removable thermal cover, to be placed over the chute container and constructed from:
Inner and Outer Covers of Silicon Coated Fiberglass Fabric.
Insulation Layer of 25mm thick Fiberglass Needle felt.
The cover will include reflective signage and two lifting handles.
The addition of the thermal cover will add approximately 7 seconds to the evacuation time of 8 seconds.
Once the cover is removed the evacuation procedure will be identical to those systems that have been operational in the market place since 2002.
